IGOTT2 Moments – Love Hertz (+ video)

 By: AndrewD : June 9th, 2011-20:12
As you have gathered from other comments, many of us were quite taken with the Grönefeld One Hertz . But Bart’s watch wasn’t the only Dead Second timepiece at IGOTT2. Paul Gerber also displayed the Model 41 (Ref. 416) with an alternating second function t...

The Hertz is growing on me...

... nice group shot there Andrew! 4 very very distinct dead seconds, and 4 very unique movement at the back too! Amazing there can be so different variants of the same complication!

Thanks for sharing, Andrew.

That's quite a gathering there. Have to say though, your Journe is the leader of the pack.

Thanks Davo. You can stay!

But I must say that all these Dead Seconds watches have their charms. The Habring2 has that nice central 'engine' and a large seconds hand so the dead beat is obvious. The One Hertz has a gorgeous dial and movement architecture. The Gerber has the switchi...

i think i NEEEEED a dead second in my collection now

 By: G99 : June 10th, 2011-00:57
i know the price point for the Habring 2 and i think i've read the beginning few numbers of the price point for the Hertz which i love to bits, but would it be rude to ask the price point for the Gerber please Andrew. the Habring is within reach with real...

On the gerber

I don't think Paul's put this into production yet - but if I remember correctly it's based on one of Paul's own movements - rather than a customised ETA - so I think it's likely to be at the higher price point. I think there were some historic pieces Grah...

thanks Greg,   i've looked...

thanks Greg, i've looked at some of the vintage pieces with Chezard movements and they seem a bit on the high side. the Doxa is affordable, but the Rolex and Omega's are plainly ridiculous. hope you had a great time in Vegas with Peter. it was sad i could...

The Model 41 ...

 By: AndrewD : June 10th, 2011-04:11
... uses Paul's in-house manufactured Cal. 41 movement and the price point for the switchable seconds version was around CHF23,000. Andrew

thanks Andrew,   despite it...

thanks Andrew, despite it being an in house calibre i think its a bit too much for me. Habring 2 it is. best Graham

Ouch!

I love the Gerber model 41, and the switchable dead seconds makes it even more appealing, but that price point puts it out of contention for me as well. Thanks for the great pictures and videos. Cheers, Daniel

Herr Gerber has something for everyone ...

It makes the 'value' of the Model 42 (which the PuristS P10 is based on) extremely high in my opinion. Unfortunately there is not an option for the switchable seconds display, but you get the triple synchronized gold rotors (as well as an enlarged date wh...

Stunning timepieces.

the Gerber is very nice too - saw it in Basel and the three rotors and the button to switch the dead seconds on and off are certainly fun. Thanks for the videos! Best Andreas

Each has their own charm.

One Hertz movement surprises me the most. Very nicely decorated. Gerber's 3 rotors movement is very unique and beautiful - akin to 3 little bells. Harbring gives me impression - simple and elegent. Of course, FPJ is a class on its own. Regards Ling

love the deadc second complication!

 By: playtime : June 10th, 2011-15:56
didn;t know that Gerber had a movement that enjoyed the complication--yet another watch to drool over great pics and thx for sharing J

The Gronefeld, as I said, was and still is one of the nicest surprises from the IGOT II.

An unexpected pleasure. Well done, Andrew. Best, Nicolas.
