Montblanc Homage to Nicolas Rieussec Part 2

 By: mkt33 : November 14th, 2014-17:27
First, let's offer a few words to remember the watchmaker himself... This is Nicolas Mathieu Rieussec He was already a successful young watchmaker in Paris when he was appointed as the royal watchmaker for Louis XVIII in 1817. Just four years later, he de...

Super post, Mike. Very interesting details on the ceramic ring.

I played with the proto at the SIHH, and loved it a lot. But I must say that I love the MB Rieussec a lot. Even though it is a Young Watch, I already see it as an icon. It brilliantly brings MB DNA. As for this version, it adds a touch of mystery, magic a...

Wizard of MB? :) Cheers Robin

I wondered if it was just luminescent enamel "baked" onto the ceramic dial

Otherwise I couldn't believe how good those curved numerals look with lume..the details are pretty sharp. Thanks for your input, I am sure MB likes to hear that they are bringing out some good designs. Best, Mike

The best part is always part 2 :p

Always remember there will never be a part 2 UNLESS there is a good part 1 :-) Best, Mike

As always, great write-up, Mike!

This explains everything about Rieussec and relationship to Montblanc. Anyone interested should read this. Great job, Mike! Ken

Thanks KIH...I never knew Rieussec ever put his chronograph

into a wristwatch until I did some more research. Actually, the chronographs in his wristwatches were more traditional...in the sense that the hands moved, not the disks. Warmest, Mike

Very informative write-up

Great write up Mike. Love it. As you guys know my first love was my NR steel bracelet I bought a few years back. I might be in the minority, or maybe it's my love for the watch, but I love the bull horn bracket on my NR. That's not to say I don't love the...

Yes the ceramic disc is more off-white and is a little different in color than the main dial which is white. I recall i noted this when i last saw the watch. The difference is not great though and I thought the slight off white color of the ceramic disc g...

I am sure I am not the only one wondering about this Super Luminova. I fully agree with you on the point that the difference of color for the Ceramic Disc is a " plus " . I am curious to read what Montblanc gonna tell you about this S.L. . One more time t...
