Some Pictures of the Front Lines

I had the pleasure of being at the factory with bigdave. Here are just s few shots of our day. I'm only posting pictures with out anyone in them ( other then the 1st with the watchmaker Julien) so I'm a bit limited in the selection I can post. It was a wonderful treat and well worth the effort to get there if you can.

The View From the Front Lines is Pretty Wonderful

I had the very good fortune to spend this past Monday at Institut Minerva. I walked in a happy Villeret owner, and walked out a True Believer. I am a pretty cynical guy, so that is not a very easy, or a very typical, journey for me to take. There is a lev...

Villeret is unique...

It's good to hear that Villeret is keeping the most traditional styles of Swiss watchmaking alive and is growing this culture among young watchmakers who will be making the watches for many more generations to come. Interaction among peers and colleagues,...

Hi bigdave. Thanks for your wonderful report. Which Villeret do you own?

It is always good to read someone else's impression of Minerva Villeret...sometimes I think I am the only one in the crowd I cannot wait for my opportunity to go on the tour, the experience sure sounds memorable. The Vintage chronograph is AWESOME. Stylis...

I have the Seconde Grande Authentique in rose gold. The 47 case is big, but comfortable on the wrist, and really shows off the quality of the work on the dial to good advantage. In particular, the minute gradations are unbelievably clear without making th...

Hi bigdave, Thanks for sharing your visit to Institut Minerva. I've heard a lot of good things about the Institut, but it's really great to hear your first hand experience. And how cool is it that they were able to call in a watchmaker to resolve issues w...

It is posts like these that make our days because we've been trying to educate the consumer about Montblanc and Villeret, and it is great to see the work that our esteemed moderator Dr. Ting is making its way around. That is just so awesome that a Villere...

Fully agree with your ordering.

First off, thanks for your kind post. While I do think that the Rieussecs are very nice watches, and that a steel Rieussec offers excellent value for money, for me, a comparison between any Rieussec that I have seen (most of the current line and the origi...

Memories of Villeret

 By: RDSChicago : July 12th, 2010-22:01
This is my first time posting photos. This was from a trip we took to Villeret in late June 2010. Pictured below is the marketing director of Montblanc watches, Alexander, and the watchmaking guru, Demetriou Cabbidou (pardon my spelling errors)! This was ...

Thanks for posting Robert!

Glad to see you made it on the trip as well. The Grand Regulateur Chronographe looks awesome on the wrist...I did not think it would after I saw the pictures but in the metal it wears well. Hope to see you soon in Chicago. Mike

Congrats on your Rieussec purchase!
