Minerva: My Timepiece in Black!

Oct 12, 2012,04:54 AM

Music: Uriah Heep

Lyrics: Magnus Bosse (inspired by Uriah Heep...)

For starters a flashback: Famous concert in German TV 1977:

Now sing with me:

"Timepiece in Black"

She called me up one morning
One lonely Sunday morning
To lure me to a place I never went before
I know not how she found me
For in darkness I was walking
And desperation lay around me
From a fight I could not win!

Ahh Ahh Ahh, Ahh Ahh Ahh Ahh

My heart was shivering weakly then
I said I need some antidote
To fight and kill desire
Without thought of love or God
And I begged her please strap on my wrist
To become mine after all this time
So eager was my passion
To fight this lonely life

Ahh Ahh Ahh, Ahh Ahh Ahh Ahh

But she wouldn't think of a relieve
instead she started teasing me
So easy to begin
And yet impossible to end!

For she's the mother of all watch
With a pretty face, all shades of black
The movement is a marvel wrapped
in a case to adore and pray!

Ahh Ahh Ahh, Ahh Ahh Ahh Ahh

"Oh lady give it once a try
And have a rest here on my wrist!
Have faith and trust in peace" I said
And filled my heart with life

There's no immediate happy end
Have no such misconception
Instead she starting playing with the boys
Be assured I won't be far away!

Ahh Ahh Ahh, Ahh Ahh Ahh Ahh

Thus having played she turned around
And said I just wanted a new toy!
I stood speachless until I saw
Her black strap touch my skin!

My heart was bumping heavier
Started trembling like a rammer
I found new love
and still can't believe my chest did not burst that day

And if one day 'she' comes to you
Think deeply on these words so wise
Take courage from them as your prize
And take the watch you want!

Ahh Ahh Ahh, Ahh Ahh Ahh Ahh!

Ahh Ahh Ahh, Ahh Ahh Ahh Ahh!

Hope you liked this song;-)

Cheers,
Magnus

Elegant, timeless, with a nicep resence, and a delicious movement. That is exactly why I love Minerva. I should get my first one as soon as possible. Nice illustration, too. Uriah Heep is another great band, which brings back to lovely memories. Best, nic...

And just add the history...

with the italian owners really pushing the company horologically, but bringing it financially almost to ruin - an italian opera drama! Glad you like it. I have seen these watches at the manufacture in around 2003, but I was under the impression that those...

Is there a second one in that shop?...

and someone unknown to me asked me to look at the watch - he better did not do that as I was hooked on the first second. The rest is history.... Cheers, Magnus

For sure, the designers of this watch had a fine taste. Dial, hands and the case back plus the movement ... Perfect. Congratulations, Nilo

Superb watch and song ...

A watch to rival Livius' Minerva on Wristscan. Regards, Richard.

Quite right about that. When . . .

. . . it comes to Minerva, the first person that comes to mind now is Livius due to his innumerable WS appearances, but Magnus has a very long association with the manufacturer, and has written many articles about them in years past.

Could you point me to one of Livius' posts?

I faintly remember having seen them once but then... I have more to share on MB 'insights' (this is a pun...) soon (if time allows). Best, Magnus

Gladly, Magnus. Livius has been honored many times . . .

. . . for his photographs on Wrist Scan. He has a Jaeger LeCoultre, a Breitling, an Eterna, and a few others, but he's best known for "the" Minerva . . . . . . shown here. This is one of several images that have been honored by our judges over the years. ...

Rock star Black watch!

Magnus, I lost one of the push buttons, so it had to go back to the Minerva shop to replace that one. They found that the caliber had sufferd from moister inside and it could not leave the workshop without a complete overhaul. It took approx 6 weeks and t...
