Speaking of vintage Minerva...

and since Montblanc has a focus on "Heritage"...

Here is my holiday wish.

This is a watch that I really wanted many years ago. (pics by SteveG)

I remember that when the 140th Anniversary watch first came out in 1998,  I was still in medical school.
The list price was about a year's worth of savings back then and way out of reach.

Now with Montblanc's Heritage collection a reality, would it be possible to recreate something this iconic again?
Before the 140th was equipped with an original Minerva pocket watch movement.

Minerva caliber 17-22 produced from 1921-1942.  It was the thinnest pocketwatch movement made by Minerva.  Breguet balance spring with no shock absorber. 18000 vph.

Now it hopefully will be replaced with this cal 16-15.

Now this idea has been done before... Here is the Gnutti era version

Here is Montblanc's version:  The Villeret 1858 Grande Seconde Authentique.

But can we please have something simple, like the original 140th Anniversary?  and in stainless steel?

Please?

What do you guys hope to see from Montblanc?

Cheers Mike

Montblanc can indeed tap on Minerva's rich history for tribute pieces! Agree a simple steel watch with a beautiful movement is what PuristS like us love the most! :) cheers robin

ditto, and no larger than 40mm

... but with beautiful chronograph movement would be nicer...... because that is where this brand shines.... IMHO. No pretty precious metal case, SS is better. Ken

just FYI

but not at the prices they are asking :-) Best, Mike PS- these owners/collectors/dealers should be singing praises to Montblanc for saving Minerva from bankruptcy and investing in the name. Otherwise these "vintage" Minerva watches would have been forgott...
