Storm of the Century...

Cue the doomsday music!

So winter storm Juno was supposed to hit NYC dumping 3 feet of snow.

The subway stopped running, flights were cancelled, and there was even a travel ban.  Instead only a few inches of snow fell in Manhattan.

The storm's path took a slight turn and headed north.  PuristS in Boston and north were hit instead!

Here in Maine, I prepared to face Mother Nature.

What will I be wearing? Not marketed as an "extreme" watch but it's dual carbon coating makes it my go to work watch.

Getting inspired.

Necessary equipment check.

This is what the first 8 hours of the storm brought.  Wind gusts up to 50 mph.  11 degrees F but it feels like -2 degrees with wind chill.

Off we go!

2 Feet and still dropping at a rate of 2 inches an hour.

An hour later and I think mother nature is winning....resistance is futile !

I think I should not buy another watch but save for one of these instead smile

Wishing I could be back in SoCal,

Mike

Predicting another 8 inches by tomorrow morning :-( At least we still have electricity. Best, Mike

Mike, I can't imagine I will survive there for long

I live in a place where the temperature is above 28°c all year round. Just came back from Lijiang China, it was -12°c at night. It is already too cold for me. Regards Ling

I suspect you would find a way to survive

The opposite would be true for me...I'd probably melt if the temp was 28 degrees C all year long :-) Best to you, Mike

Ha! That is a good one... There are a few snow piles

in the front yard which look like miniature mountains this morning. Hmm, that gives me an idea! Cheers, Mike

Woah - that's a lot of snow!

Take care Mike. Stay indoors as much as you can and keep warm. :) Well your Montblanc watch is definitely robust enough for the storm! I worry for you and not the watch :) I recall you did a test on the DLC for this watch some years ago and it was super r...

Definately my skin is no where as tough...

but luckily my spirit is :-) Had to clear the snow or else nothing can get in or out... Sometimes owning a 50 yard driveway is not too fun! Best, Mike
