The Aviator Re-edition?

These watches have been a great mystery to me so I'm hoping someone can provide their history or, best of all, some factory literature.  I've seen many references to a small run of Aviator Re-edition watches patterned after the WWII over-sized pilot's chronograph.  The claimed dates of the homage watch vary widely from 1960s to 80s, but judging by the SWISS MADE printed under 6 o'clock I'd assume sometime after 1974 when Swiss law mandated this label, which puts it into the Frey ownership.

Just this past few minutes I've found six examples on the 'net, however there is no consistency to their case or movement numbers, or movement finish for that matter.  So I'm guessing this was an opportunity to use up old stocks rather than new production, hence the limited numbers.  Can anyone provide documentation on the Aviator Re-edition?

could you share with us a few more data - e.g. size, and the movement? Do you have a pic of the movement perhaps? Congratulations! Magnus

Yes, if I am not wrong, the size is 46 mm. I know the movement.

But I am a bit intrigued, to say all. The movement should be a 19-9 CH, 42 mm big. I would really like to see a picture of the movement! Best, Nicolas.

If that's the case I my reference shows me this...
