Very interesting!

Thanks Robin - this is rather appealing!
I have issues with world time watches. As I said in another post recently, the city ring is often completely dominant (my criticism of the VC worldtimer), they don't deal with summer time very well (half the world does it, half the world doesn't, and solutions involving little lines and dots on the city ring usually strike me as pretty illegible), they don't deal with Indian time zones and other places that aren't at the same minute as everywhere else, and when things change (and they seem to pretty often, as happened recently in Russia) they become completely out of date.
(Now here's an idea. Buy a world timer from Company X and when you send it in for servicing, we will give you the option - for a small extra charge - or swapping out the city ring for an updated one! Even better - Pick Your Own Cities. Don't like Beijing? Replace it with Hong Kong or Shanghai! Want to celebrate your Spanish roots? No problem - Madrid instead of Paris! You get the idea.
Plus, the world map is a nice idea but inevitably the designers only put a continent or two on the dial; they don't show night and day very well; and there's never much room for the maker's name (I'm afraid I'm not a fan of the PP5131, with the company name engraved on the bezel in *that* font, which may be a matter of opinion; but which I happen to find, shall we say, not to my taste).
But here MB has done away with all the issues in my last paragraph. The whole world - well, not quite, and I doubt they'll sell many of these in Australia!; but a pretty good effort. Company name very discreetly at 12, very nice. And a good clean look - plus lots of blue - you can never go wrong with lots of blue!
Looking forward to seeing one of these in the metal...
